Keep the medicines distinct
Mounjaro is a tirzepatide injection. Wegovy is available in injection and oral semaglutide formulations. Foundayo is an orforglipron tablet. Similar uses do not make these medicines interchangeable, and doses cannot be converted by comparing milligram numbers.
Think about your routine
Ask the clinician how the administration instructions fit your day. Consider shift work, travel, remembering doses, storage, access to supplies and your comfort with an injection. A tablet may have specific timing instructions; an injection may raise practical questions about storage and disposal.
Write down those questions before the consultation. Your preference matters, but it is one part of a clinical assessment rather than evidence that a medicine is suitable.
Compare the same period of care
Look at the number of tablets or doses included and the period covered. Ask whether follow-up, delivery and supplies are included. Avoid judging value using the pack price alone or assuming a daily and weekly product will have the same total monthly cost.
Do not rank medicines by an isolated claim about weight loss. Study populations, treatment periods and methods differ; a clinician can explain what evidence is relevant to your circumstances.
Changing formulation needs a plan
If you want to switch, contact the current prescriber and explain why. Ask about assessment, timing, what to do with remaining supplies and how monitoring will work. Do not overlap treatments or construct your own dose conversion from an online table.
- Which options are clinically appropriate?
- What administration instructions would change?
- Who should I contact if I am unsure about a dose?
- What is the full cost of the new plan?

Your questions, answered
Can I compare an injection dose with a tablet dose by milligrams?
No. The milligram number alone does not make different formulations or medicines equivalent. Ask a clinician about the prescribed product and its instructions. For budgeting, compare offers for that exact prescription rather than calculating a cost per milligram across treatments.
Which source covers each weight loss treatment on Med Easy?
Monj covers Mounjaro, iGovy covers Wegovy injections, Ogovy covers Wegovy tablets and Dayo covers Foundayo. Med Easy keeps their dose tables separate and displays source-check information. Use the appropriate source for the prescribed formulation, then confirm the offer with the provider.
Does a tablet listing mean it is available through the NHS?
A private price listing cannot establish NHS funding or local access. Check the relevant NHS pathway separately with your care team. Also ask the private provider whether the named strength is available to dispense, because a published listing alone is not a stock guarantee.
