10 Health Apps for UK Users: Features, Costs & Limits
A health app can hold your everyday records, connect a wearable or help you access care. These are different jobs. This guide puts ten options in alphabetical order and explains what each actually offers.

What you can comparePublished featuresFree & paid accessDevices & UK fitPractical limitations
Published price / accessIncluded with compatible Apple devices
Apple Health is a central record for people already using an iPhone or iPad. Its value depends on the information you enter or allow connected services to share; it can reduce the need to open several separate tracking apps.
What it offers
Combines health records from compatible apps and devices
Medication, sleep and activity records
Charts and trends over time
Limits & things to check
It is tied to the Apple ecosystem; an Apple device is a separate purchase.
Some measurements require compatible accessories, and available features vary by device and region.
UK fit: Use Apple’s UK feature information before buying hardware for a particular measurement.
Published price / accessFree app tools; optional third-party consultations cost extra
Augo combines everyday tracking with optional GLP-1 tools. Its published UK focus includes local food data and meal planning, so medication is not required to use the wider app. The developer says Medstack funds the app rather than charging a subscription.
What it offers
Food, weight, mood and water records
Workout and supported wearable connections
Optional prescribed-dose history and reminders
Limits & things to check
AI suggestions and recorded trends do not replace a clinician’s assessment.
Optional human consultations are separate paid services; check wearable support for your exact device.
UK fit: UK-built; this summary describes published features rather than an independent clinical evaluation.
Published price / accessFree tracking; optional Premium subscription
Bearable is a diary for connecting symptoms with daily routines. A consistent record can help you describe changes at an appointment, particularly when remembering individual days is difficult. The free tier includes extensive logging and recent reports.
What it offers
Custom symptom, mood and energy logs
Medication reminders and daily notes
CSV export and recent trend reports
Limits & things to check
Longer report periods and additional correlation tools require Premium.
A correlation in a personal diary does not establish what caused a symptom.
UK fit: A UK App Store listing is available; current Premium offers and billing periods should be checked in the app.
Published price / accessCore features free; optional Connect+ subscription
Garmin Connect organises the information collected by compatible Garmin equipment. It is relevant if you already have a watch or cycle computer and want a single history of training and everyday measurements. Garmin says its existing core features remain free alongside Connect+.
What it offers
Activity history from Garmin devices
Sleep and health metric trends
Training plans and progress dashboards
Limits & things to check
The available measurements depend on the connected device, which costs extra.
Connect+ adds paid analysis and guidance; its features can vary by device and region.
UK fit: UK support and subscription pages are available; confirm local checkout pricing before upgrading.
Published price / accessBase tracking included; optional Premium subscription
Google’s UK website now calls the former Fitbit app Google Health. It brings records from supported Fitbit and Pixel devices together, while Premium adds coaching and additional guidance. Existing users should check the current app name and account requirements when updating.
What it offers
Activity and sleep records with supported trackers
Weight, nutrition, water and mood logging
Optional paid coaching and workout content
Limits & things to check
Many measurements require a compatible watch or tracker; a Google account is required.
Premium coaching is for adults, and access to particular features depends on the device and service.
UK fit: Use the UK Google Store and checkout; a headline “from” amount does not by itself establish the billing period.
The NHS App belongs in a broad health-app comparison because it helps with access to care rather than exercise or nutrition. It can put routine administration and available health information in one place, with no app subscription.
What it offers
Request repeat prescriptions
View available records and test results
Manage supported appointments and messages
Limits & things to check
Full access requires identity checks, and GP practices control some available services.
It does not provide every hospital record or guarantee an appointment is available.
UK fit: For people aged 13 or over registered with a GP in England or the Isle of Man; this is not a UK-wide access promise.
Published price / accessFree app; individual booked services may charge
Patient Access connects everyday GP administration with a directory of local services. It is a healthcare-access app, so compare it on your practice’s supported functions rather than expecting workout or food tracking. Linking the right practice is central to its usefulness.
What it offers
Request repeat prescriptions from a linked practice
Book appointments where offered
View available health records and local services
Limits & things to check
GP functions depend on the practice and registration arrangements.
Free access to the app does not make a private pharmacy or other booked service free.
UK fit: The publisher offers UK registration; check that your own practice supports the service you need.
Published price / accessFree app; optional content and hardware may cost extra
Samsung Health combines routine activity records with measurements from supported Galaxy devices. The UK product page describes sleep reports and coaching, but the experience depends on the phone and wearable combination rather than the app download alone.
What it offers
Activity and exercise records
Sleep tracking with supported wearables
Sleep coaching and wellness trends
Limits & things to check
Advanced measurements can require a compatible Galaxy Watch or Ring.
Samsung Health Monitor is a separate app for certain regulated features; country and device restrictions apply.
UK fit: Use Samsung’s UK compatibility guidance, particularly when pairing a non-Samsung Android phone.
Published price / accessFree limited tier; optional Premium subscription
Welltory interprets personal measurements and daily records to describe patterns in wellbeing. Its free tier supports a limited daily check-in, while Premium expands analysis. The results are general wellness information rather than a diagnosis or a substitute for medical assessment.
What it offers
Heart-rate-variability measurements and analysis
Manual mood, weight and blood-pressure logs
Connected health data and breathing practices
Limits & things to check
The publisher says free-tier data older than 30 days is deleted; export records you need to keep.
Blood pressure is entered from a separate measurement; the app does not measure it itself.
UK fit: Check the local subscription screen; monthly instalments can represent an annual commitment.
Published price / accessFree app; Withings+ £8.95/month
The Withings app can act as a basic standalone health record and as the companion for the brand’s scales, watches and other devices. The free app keeps core data accessible; Withings+ is a separate layer of paid guidance and analysis.

A MORE USEFUL SHORTLIST
Choose for the job you need done.
What does “all-round health” actually cover?
Start with the job you want done. A phone health dashboard brings records together; a fitness ecosystem adds activity trends; a symptom diary captures how you feel; a care-access app helps with appointments or prescriptions. A long feature list does not make these services interchangeable. NHS App and Patient Access appear here because affordable access to care is part of health, although neither is a substitute for a workout or food diary.
One reliable record beats five half-used diaries
Write down the information you want to keep: medicines, symptoms, activity, food, mood or appointment details. Then check whether you enter it yourself, import it from a device or receive it from your care provider. Test one ordinary week before moving your history. Duplicate sync connections can produce confusing totals; confirm where each number came from and whether you can correct or export it.
Check the device cost, not just the app price
A free companion app may be most useful with a paid watch, scale or other device. A subscription may unlock interpretation rather than the underlying record. List the costs separately: hardware, app subscription and any professional service. Check that your existing device is supported before treating a free download as a free complete setup.
UK care access depends on the service behind the app
An app being available in a UK store does not mean every NHS organisation uses it. Check the country, practice and service requirements on the official source. A private appointment booking feature can carry a separate fee. Keep urgent care routes and your usual care team accessible; an app account is not a promise of a clinician response.
How this comparison was prepared
Med Easy checked official product information and UK app-store listings on 26 October 2026. The ten entries are a selected set, not a complete market list. We have not scored the apps, tested every feature, verified comparative results or claimed a registered-clinician review. UK focus means we checked for relevant UK access or information; it does not mean every app was built in Britain.
Where a reliable comparable UK price was unavailable, we say to check the current checkout instead of converting a US price or inventing a billing period. Promotions, account eligibility, store and subscription tier can change the charge. Practical caveats are our interpretation of the published offer, not a survey of complaints.
Inclusion and relationships: Augo appears in every category because its published tools overlap these uses. Its website identifies Medstack as its operator and funder, alongside Monj, iGovy, Ogovy and Dayo, the medicine comparison sites Med Easy links to. Inclusion is not an independent award. Read Augo’s ownership statement and Med Easy’s relationship disclosure.
Before sharing health information, read the app’s privacy terms: what is stored, what reaches AI or analytics services, what appears publicly and how export or deletion works. A convenient tool still deserves a deliberate data-sharing choice.
Questions before you choose
Are these the ten best health apps?
No. This is a selected comparison of ten apps in alphabetical order. It is not a scored ranking, a complete market list or a claim that every app suits every person.
Can one app replace my NHS records?
A personal tracking app and an NHS clinical record serve different purposes. Check what is actually connected and what your care team can see; do not assume information you enter is sent to a clinician.
